G.P.R.
ground-penetrating-radar may be used to locate buried
utilities, objects and or voids (depending on soil
conditions). GPR is also used in concrete scanning for
locating rebar, post-tension & conduits. When scanning in
congested areas, (many buried targets with upper and lower
rebar mats, conduits and post-tension cables), it is
recommended that a 3D scan be performed due to the fact that
the upper targets will mask the lower targets. GPR concrete
scanning can not distinguish the difference between a single
rebar and a single post-tension cable. It can only detect
the centers and approximate depth. Line Locators Inc. uses
other equipment to help verify post-tension cables and power
conduits (power must be on and running though line to be
detected). GPR data, with notice, can be saved for
post-processing.
UTILITY, GEO-SCAN AND FAULT LOCATION: An
electronic signal is induced on the utilities. Line Locators
Inc. marks the area with the highest reading. Line Locators
Inc. must have a utility or (line) on which to induce the
signal. If Line Locators Inc. does not find any signal, or,
if there is no line to apply a signal on, Line Locators Inc.
will not be responsible for undetected or damaged lines. A sonde type transmitter on the end of a fiberglass push-rod
is used to locate non-metallic drain lines and or duct
banks. Depth readings are approximate.
LEAK DETECTION: Line
Locators Inc. uses an electronic listening device and an
electronic helium detector to find leaks. Line Locators
Inc. marks the area with the highest reading of helium
and/or the highest acoustical reading on the target line.
Pool and spa leaks are located this way as well. Leak
Detection is more an art than a science. Many factors can
affect the marked location of leaks; soil conditions
(back-fill used), depth and size of leak.
VIDEO PIPELINE
INSPECTION: Line Locators Inc. visually inspects and locates
pipe as well as any problems or points of interest with
depths based on a good signal from a sonde type transmitter.

NOTE: If any equipment is
lodged due to open lines, damaged lines or congested lines
or fittings, you will be billed at our normal rate to remove
equipment, or you can arrange to remove the equipment in a
timely fashion, with no damage to the equipment and at no
cost to Line Locators Inc. All locations must be excavated
by hand to verify line location! Line Locators Inc. is not
responsible for hit targets that were masked or undetected.
